What is BETA MAG™?
The BETA MAG™ is a twin drum magazine with a capacity of 100 rounds of ammunition and the capability to store the ammunition in the fully loaded magazine for an indefinite period of time. It consists of two (2) main components:
- DRUM STORAGE HOUSING - A standard which fits any weapon
- INTERCHANGEABLE FEED CLIP KIT - Its configuration may vary from weapon to weapon. It basically serves as an adapter for the various types of weapons.
In use by military forces and law enforcement agencies worldwide, BETA MAG™ boosts the capacity of 5.56(.223), 7.62(.308) and 9mm weapons to an impressive 100 rounds, while increasing firing stability and lowering the weapon's overall profile. How Heavy is the BETA MAG™?
The BETA MAG™ 5.56 MM, fully loaded with 100 rounds, compared with four (4) standard clip magazines loaded with 100 rounds weighs less than half a pound more (see graphic). This is a negligible difference which is far outweighed by its many advantages. BETA MAG™ Advantages outweigh the 0.4 pound weight difference:
- No magazine changes in combat when every second counts
- Long term storage of fully loaded magazines with no resulting performance loss
- Improved ground clearance
- Balanced and stable weapon
Is the BETA BETA MAG™ Expensive?
At first glance, the price of the BETA MAG™ compared with the price of one 30-round magazine seems higher. But where the 30-round magazine is disposable, with a service life of only 1200 rounds, the BETA MAG™ is reusable with a service life of 60,000 rounds and requires no maintenance other than cleaning and lubrication.
If you compare the cost of one BETA MAG™ with the cost of fifty 30-round magazines (with a comparable service life), you end up with a cost savings of over $100 USD.

Which weapons is the BETA MAG™ designed for?
Adaptable - The interchangeable feed clip kit allows the BETA MAG™ to be adapted to an extensive variety of weapons including 5.56mm(.203), 7.62mm(.308) and 9mm.
Does the BETA MAG™ cause barrel wear?
BETA MAG™ does not cause any additional barrel wear on applicable weapons. It is the ammunition which causes barrel erosion over time, no matter what type of delivery magazine you use.
BETA MAG™ has successfully undergone extensive environmental, endurance, and reliability testing, based primarily on the US Army Test Operations Procedures 3-2-045 (Automatic Weapons, Machine Guns, Hand and Shoulder Weapons) and 4-2-602 (Rough Handling Tests).
Other tests and evaluation procedures used as references include TOP 2-2-815, MIL-C-45913A, MIL-R-63997A, and TOP 3-2-826.
